Edges.
This is my mindmap and it shows what i believe edges are, also it shows what i associate with edges.
I like these pictures but the problem is they are really low level pictures of edges.Any picture is classed as having edges but it depends how you take the pictures this was our first set, these pictures wasnt very good.We was set the task to take pictures of what we call edges but we used ipods so they wasnt very good. You can see the blury and faded pictures whereas the pictures below are higher quality and have real detail.
This was our second set of pictures these were much higher quality because we used nikon cameas, i really prefer these pictures because the quality and the detail of the edges are so precise and unique.I really like the picture of the poles because they carry on and you can think of it in the way you like.
We took these pictures based on the fact that we needed higher quality and in my opinion these pictures were very nice and accurate. I really like the first picture of the red letter on the wall because it shows tonal shades of shadows and is just an all round great picture.
Keith Arnatt
These pictures are called 'Pictures from a rubbish tip'. Keith has taken these pictures close so we cant tell what is going on in the picture. Sophie Arkett writes:
Our Description.
Randy Grskovic
My favourite picture is the bottom middle where the triangles are all facing down where he had cut a picture of what looks like people relaxing on a sunny day at the beach.I really like the white border because it puts a unique spin on his art. Also i like this piece because it shows a happy sunny time and shows that you can interpret it a anything.

A Little About His Life.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, Jasper Johns spent his early life in Allendale ,south Carolina, with his grandparents after his parents marriage failed and divorced. He then spent a year living with his mother in Columbia, south Carolina, and then he spent several years living with his aunt Gladys in Lake Murray, South Carolina. He completed high school in Sumter, South Carolina where he again lived with his mother.Thinking about this period in his life, he once said, "In the place where I was a child, there were no artists and there was no art, so I really didn't know what that meant. I think I thought it meant that I would be in a situation different than the one that I was in."
Why I Like His Work.
He first inspired me when i saw his work,I enjoyed his work because it was different to the other work i researched like Keith Arnatt. Although his work was good i really felt i could of got more out of other artists so i researched on and found this. Also i really like his work because the colours just burst out and are placed carefully but all in different places which is a really good technique.
Edges At home.
My favourite picture is the picture of the fluffy rug because you can see lots of edges in the picture also the lighting is all light and dark in different pictures.
Research.
Evaluation.
During this project i researched a artist called Randy Groskovic we had to research him but i research a little further into his work and i was really intrequed.I really enjoyed and was interested in his work because he put a unique spin on his work by re shaping the picture and putting a white border around the edge.Studying Groskovic taught me that not all your work has to be the same and that changing just the simplest things can change your scrap into a masterpiece.
The theme we explored was edges. When sir first told me i thought about angles and shapes so i thought it would be quite boring and easy. Also i thought i wouldn't enjoy the project because it would be so simple. My ideas changed because as i started the topic the genre developed and i had so many different ideas it was just so exciting and it was a great start to a assessment.
In this assessment i started with a simple idea of filling a a4 piece of white card with lots of different pictures cut into different shapes but that proven to be harder than what it was and i wasn't happy with the final outcome but i did stick with a similar idea. What worked well was the fact that i have lots of different pictures inspired into my work yet they all combine and work really well.In the beginning i found the ideas challenging because although i had tons of ideas i just didnt' know what one to choose.
My final outcome is a unique random Randy Groskovic inspired piece, i used 3 photos in my piece which worked really well. One photo is a normal picture of our school from the side view with a sky in the background,My second photo is several picture of the same tree which have been treated in photoshop. My third and final picture is a black and white background picture of a white flowered tree.
